Terms of Use

Article 1 Purpose

The purpose of these Terms of Use is to provide for rights, obligations, and liabilities of Samsung Electronics CO.,Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Samsung Electronics") and users of the Internet-based services (hereinafter referred to as "Service(s)") rendered by the "STANDARD DEVELOPEMENT PLATFORM" system operated by Samsung Electronics with respect to User's registration and any use of the Service.

Article 2 Definition

"STANDARD DEVELOPEMENT PLATFORM" means an intra-net system operated by Samsung Electronics to provide for functions of managing tasks, expenses, assets, and architecture in relation to information.

Article 3 Notification and Revision of Terms of Use

  1. 1) "STANDARD DEVELOPEMENT PLATFORM" shall post these Terms of Use, trade name, name of managers in charge of personal information management and etc. on the initial screen of the "STANDARD DEVELOPEMENT PLATFORM" web site to inform users thereof. To read the Terms of Use, Users shall click a link to open a new window.
  2. 2) In the event of revision to these Terms of Use, "STANDARD DEVELOPEMENT PLATFORM" shall post the revisions, effective date, and reasons for revision, together with the current Terms of Use, on the initial screen for seven days before the effective date; provided, however, that any revision unfavorable to Users shall be notified with a prior grace period of 30 days or more; in this case, "STANDARD DEVELOPEMENT PLATFORM" shall indicate differences of provisions between before and after the revision in order for Users to easily understand.
  3. 3) Where a User does not agree to the changes in the Terms of Use, the Terms shall not be applied nor the "STANDARD DEVELOPEMENT PLATFORM" site be used.
  4. 4) Items that are not provided for under these Terms and related interpretation of the Terms shall be subject to applicable laws including the Consumer Protection Act in Electronic Transactions, FTC Guidelines for Consumer Protection in Electronic Transactions, and other applicable laws.

Article 4 Provision of and Change to Services

  1. 1) "STANDARD DEVELOPEMENT PLATFORM" shall perform activities as follows:
    1. ① Task management: pre-sensing, task start-up, development, and operation
    2. ② Expense management: budgeting, quotation / contract, record/claim, analysis report
    3. ③ Asset management: license management, asset registration/revision, maintenance
    4. ④ Architecture management: EA Framework, standard product management, architecture review
  2. 2) In case the Service is changed, "STANDARD DEVELOPEMENT PLATFORM" shall post a "Manual" of the changed functions on the bulletin board of the initial screen.

Article 5 Discontinuation of Services

  1. 1) In case of maintenance, replacement, breakdown, or transmission interruption of information communication facilities including computers, "STANDARD DEVELOPEMENT PLATFORM" may temporarily discontinue the provision of Services.
  2. 2) "STANDARD DEVELOPEMENT PLATFORM" as a corporate intra-net, shall not indemnify Users for damages, if any, that arise from the temporary discontinuation of Services.
  3. 3) In case a subcontractor is changed, that shall be notified to Users through a letter, e-mail, phone call, SMS, or other similar methods.

Article 6 Protection of Personal Information

"STANDARD DEVELOPEMENT PLATFORM" is doing its best to handle personal information in an as proactive and effective manner as possible according to its policy of handing personal information. Please read the "Guideline for handling personal information."

Article 7 Duties of Standard Platform

  1. 1) "STANDARD DEVELOPEMENT PLATFORM" shall make every effort to restrain any act which is in violation of applicable laws and these Terms of Use, or contrary to good public order and customs, and provide goods and services in a sustainable and reliable manner as prescribed herein.
  2. 2) "STANDARD DEVELOPEMENT PLATFORM" shall have an effective security system to protect personal information of Users (including credit information) in order for Users to securely use the Internet-based Services.
  3. 3) "STANDARD DEVELOPEMENT PLATFORM" shall not send Users any unsolicited E-mail or SMS for profit-making purposes.

Article 8 Duties of Users

Users shall not do any of the following:
  1. 1) Register false information upon application for membership or modification of personal information;
  2. 2) Alter other information posted on the "STANDARD DEVELOPEMENT PLATFORM";
  3. 3) Transmit or post other information (e.g., computer programs) than prescribed by "STANDARD DEVELOPEMENT PLATFORM";
  4. 4) Infringe on intellectual property rights, including copyrights, of "STANDARD DEVELOPEMENT PLATFORM" and any third party;
  5. 5) Perform any act that injures the honor of or interferes with the business of "STANDARD DEVELOPEMENT PLATFORM" and any third party;
  6. 6) Leak or post information in violation with the security policy of "Samsung Electronics.";

Article 9 Reversion and Limited Use of Copyright

  1. 1) Intellectual property rights, including copyrights created by "STANDARD DEVELOPEMENT PLATFORM", shall revert to "STANDARD DEVELOPEMENT PLATFORM"
  2. 2) Users shall not, without prior consent of "STANDARD DEVELOPEMENT PLATFORM", use for profit-making purposes, or allow any third party to use, the information they acquire in the course of using "STANDARD DEVELOPEMENT PLATFORM" if the information reverts to "STANDARD DEVELOPEMENT PLATFORM", by means of replication, transmission, publication, distribution, broadcasting, or other methods.
  3. 3) Where "STANDARD DEVELOPEMENT PLATFORM" uses works copyrighted by a User by agreement, "STANDARD DEVELOPEMENT PLATFORM" shall notify the User of such use.

Article 10 Resolution of Disputes

  1. 1) "STANDARD DEVELOPEMENT PLATFORM" shall reflect justifiable opinions or complaints filed by Users. However, as "STANDARD DEVELOPEMENT PLATFORM" is a corporate intra-net system, it shall not compensate for damages, if any, caused thereby.
  2. 2) "STANDARD DEVELOPEMENT PLATFORM" shall handle complaints and opinions raised by Users with priority; provided, however, that if it is difficult to promptly handle them, "STANDARD DEVELOPEMENT PLATFORM" immediately notifies Users of the reason therefor and timeline for handling.

Supplementary Provision

The date of entry into force of these Terms is September 1st, 2014.

Guidelines for Collection and Use of Personal Information

[ Consent to the Collection and Use of Personal Information ]

1. Collection items, purpose of collecting and using personal information, and period for storing and using personal information

  1. 1) Collection items
    • Mandatory : name, mySingleID, EPID, department information, company name, business unit, position
    • Optional : e-mail, phone number
  2. 2) Purpose of Collecting and Using Personal Information
    • To use in the ID confirmation process upon one's request for peruse, correction, or deletion of personal information
    • To have clear communication with individuals
  3. 3) Period for Storing and Using Personal Information
    • Personal information is stored for five years after the information use period expires.
    • Personal information is destroyed immediately in case the information retention period expires; customers request for the destruction of their personal information; or customers withdraw their consent for the collection and use of personal information.
※ You may refuse collection and use of your personal information. In such cases, however, your access to and use of "STANDARD DEVELOPEMENT PLATFORM" services shall be limited.

2STANDARD DEVELOPEMENT PLATFORMtsourcing Personal Information-related Business

To provide you with the STANDARD DEVELOPEMENT PLATFORM services, personal information-related businesses are being outsourced to a third-party company. If the sub-contractor is changed, that shall be notified to Users through more than one of the following means-a letter, e-mail, phone call, SMS or other similar methods.
